I agree Corve. I work with a lot of independent crtroacnots and I am surprised (and frustrated) with how many show up with attitudes, or late, or don\'t show up at all. I once worked with a contractor who brought her son to the job and when I asked why he was there and why he was pacing so restlessly in the background, she said he had just gotten out of prison the day before and had nowhere else to go and nothing else to do!!! I was shocked and as a budding entrepreneur myself, I am surprised at how many other business owners put customer service on the backburner these days. I am never late or rude to my potential clients no matter how they treat me and if ever there was an emergency and I had to be late or delay a meeting, I would most certainly call beforehand and make amends to my client. Yet, there are so many companies that will not maintain even basic communication with their customers or are without manners or honest intentions. In fact, I just had to fire a man a few days ago that I worked with for a year because he kept lying to me about the date he would get a job done I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt at first, but after 2 weeks had passed, my patience wore off and now I am left to go through the inconvenient process of finding and hiring someone all over again. Maddening! And in this case, I had paid this man on time every month for the past year for his services and have been nothing but nice to him but I can not tolerate constant miscommunication, lies, and being taken for granted at all in any relationship professional or personal. It is just a matter of basic respect and common decency and I still can not understand how, especially in this recession, some businesses do not place excellent customer service as one of the highest priorities on their lists.
